Памятник “Стерегущему”, роза у которого уже фигурировала в этом блоге. Александровский парк, метро “Горьковская”.
This is the monument I have been referencing in A winter flower ; it commemorates the crew of a Russian destroyer “Stereguschiy” (meaning – the one guarding something), which has joined a vastly inequal battle with Japanese fleet and chose to scuttle the ship rather than surrender. That was in the very beginning of 20th century.
The monument is located in Aleksandrovsky park, near Gorkovskaya subway station.
Taken with a Canon 30D on 17-12-2007, at ISO 400 1/80s f5.0
